I have a Holden Rodeo 1999 Dual Cab 4 Wheel Drive Utility and I want to increase my top speed.

At the moment I can only get 135 Km/Hr and I KNOW THAT IT IS ILLEGAL, but I want to do it for a specific purpose which is LEGAL.

Has anyone attempted this before and can help me, if NOT has anyone got any idea how to do it?

Get a taller diff ratio. Most commercials have a ratio of about 4:1 for getting off the mark with a heavy load, but when your on the highway the revs are up, even in 5th. Get a different centre with say a 3:1 ratio, if your not carrying heavy stuff it sho

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.

You could also improve the aerodynamics, with front splitter, side skirts, under body tray, laying the tailgate down, shaving the door handles, removing wiper arms etc.

You only have to

JBM laying the tail gate down or removing it was proven on the mythbuster to increas drag and use more fuel, it was an intresting show. The best otions where to leave the tail gate up as it forms a "bubble" of air in the back stream lining the air flow ov

OK 1999 had the V6 and the Turbo diesel. I have had two of these beasts. The turbos were gr8. Earlier ones had better gearing that 2000 plus series.

Now as you get above 135 km/h. It must be the V6. These suckers are over 5metres long, and sit high up.

Thanks for the comments. The Rodeo is a 2.8L Turbo Diesel and it does not scream.

I gather that the current gearing is low enough in 1st & 2nd gear which gets you in motion reasonably well and if the diff ratio was changed the only problem may be when

Starting off in 4x4 on tar is the worst thing for your transfer case you will rip the guts out of it.

You have got me I can not for the life of me figure why you would want to make a torbo diesel exceed 135k's? Its not for burn outs, it not for drag ra
