I have a noisy fan in my factory aircon XF. Think it might only be a leaf. Where does the fan hide and what is the best way to get to it.

Thanks

Thanks gts_hg, sounds nasty to get to the fan. I might have to see if it is just leaves by feeding something flexible like a hose or wire up and down the duct before removing the whole dash.

Run the fan flat out and change from recirc to fresh a few times. If that fails you should be able to reach up behind the glovebox into the fan (whilst it is off of course) and remove the leaf.

Problem solved. Thanks Jim5.0. The alternating did not help but putting my hand 200mm up the passenger floor output duct I could feel the fan. It’s actually a centrifugal blower. That is how accessible it was to my hand. What I found in there was not leav
