Hi there this is my first post so here goes.Ive noticed there seems to be 2 types of hk subframes .Some have an indent on rh inner guard for battery carrier and others are just smooth.Can anyone tell me when this change happened?

From memory it was some time in late July or August 1968. The first of the Monaros had the smooth RH inner guard.

How about early or late? Pre or Post Monaro/Brougham? The bonnet catch plates are different too arent they?

No the bonnet catch changes a lot earlier, I think around March.

Early HK radiator support panels do not roll all the way over. they stop vertical on the front edge.
This is the problem with using terms like series I, II, II etc when Holdne did not, as thre are always running changes to cars. Series II is like a mod

Hi there, from what I have seen the cars with the indent on the rh inner guard also have the large body tag on the plenum not on the firewall.
My Premier has the tag on the firewall and no indent (and the non rolled radiator support panel). This is a v |

personally, i don't think that 'series: x' should be used at all, pre VN. Vn and onwards are where the major changes were made. e.g VS series III, VT roller block (304)
If nissan motorsport is nismo, then doesn't that make honda mo

Yes late July cars had th tag moved but there are a small number of cars with the tag on the top and the smooth inner guard. So ALL with tag in centre of firewalll have the smooth nner guard.
My HK GTS was also late July, early August build, with tag u

Lets not also forget the climate control/ignition switch light upgrade in 10/89 on the VN.
Yes we should only use the term series X when GM-H does, all the others should be refered to in GM-H terms also, like type 1 and 2 327 engines. Appart from that
