I am thinking about replacing my 308 with a 350 with the intent to stroke it to a 383, aside from the weight factor was wandering what the pro's and cons are between Ali and cast blocks and heads?

Before you do it, look into ADR's with a Chev in a WB. It would be easier in a WB to stroke your 308 to 350 or 377, assuming you already have tough gearbox and diff. Look here: http://www.comeracing.com/
The 350 and 377 kits are less than $2200. Just nee

yes holden stroker is a much cheaper option. eagle 355 stroker cranks can be had for $550, if its not a speed demon, then just chev X- rods ($10 each @ suburban imports) and some 350 chev pistons (cheap as chips, seals bearing, etc shouldn't cost too much
