hi can anyone help
i have a 202 head here that the serial numbers match that of the xu1 head- yet it was made in 71 - were they ever brought out that early ??
i also had another fella check the numbers and he said the numbers match but cant remember if they were brought out that year.
do the71 202 xu1 heads exist? or is it just a mistake

Hi Kyle, I would check that the '1' on the date code is not a '2' as some date codes are hard to read on the heads cast iron. Just as a matter of interence what is the date code and where did you find it? Cheers.

Hi Kyle, the position sounds right. does the 1 look straight or bent? The 2 tooling could look like a 1 as it is a small number and if the two tails didnt cast right you never know. Cheers.

Hi Guys.

The same head casting was used for both LC & LJ XU-1s. Very early ones (1970) had no cast part number, but the head was still essentially the same.

If the casting date is before 6/71, it's probably off a 3100X engine. 6/71 to late 71 it's p
