hey all picking up a wb tonner in a couple of weeks and would like to here the sweet sound of a twin pipe v8 out the back.done this conversion ages ago but might need some input.
-need v8 bellhousing -need v8 input shaft for the m22.is this a straight unbolt pull out front and put in new.?? -can use original engine mounts providing i have the v8 block mount plates.?? -radiator inlet outlet needs to be swapped from side to side. -no pwr steer easy -ac just needs bracket
any proven combos on what to do to the 4.2 for a rebuild.i know every one will say yeah a 308 but im not after mega power its a cruiser so i cant justify the extra cost.of course it needs to be a blue motor etc.any help appreciated............cheers

Just go and find a complete blue 253 out of a VC-VH or WB. Youll just need a HQ-WB sump for a Commodore engne. Any full cable HZ-WB or VB-VK V8 bellhousing and clutch for will do. I think the 6cyl clutch cable will be fine BUT youll need a late HZ or WB V Edited by user Saturday, 22 March 2008 6:04:43 AM(UTC)

You have to change the pedal. They are different. Just like Commodore where 6 and 8cyl differ. But I think 6 and 8cyl cables are the same (but check 1st)

Dont know about Commodore, but the pedal has to be different as more clutch fork movement is required, plus the part number is different. In WB the V8 pedal bolts into a different hole to 6cyl one.
