hi im just about to restore my pride and joy xc sedan. it has a bit of rust that i am going to cut out and weld in pieces. i was wondering what welder to use. i have a stick and a mig welder but im new to this so i don't know which one.
Any help please.

hey xcjem, I have tried a little bit of welding, but am not an eggspert,, but i have seen my mate do it, and he used an oxy?? apparently it can be done with a mig, with a bit of practice? I tried it, and made a mess of it, big time!! found it hard to |

Hi xcjem I welded up some of the rust in my ZD with a mig. Play around with scrap metal that is the same thickness to get the power and wire feed speed right first. Another trick I picked up is when you cut out the repair patch round off the corners as

xcjem, i'm afraid if you need to ask what welder to use, you may not be up to the task, a stick welder will blow a hole straight through the panels. It can be done with a mig but an oxy is most commonly used.
