Mates having trouble setting his timing in his F350. The 351 clevo was pulled from an XE f'mont. Now after being stuffed into his truck, mate says he needs to turn the dizzy just a little more to set timing right but the bulge on the side of dizzy housing fouls the manifold bolt. To lift dizzy and move back a tooth fixes that but gives him clearance probs with the thermostat housing.
Anyone got a clue ? Picture in the link below...

Tricky. Is the dizzy a Motorcraft/Bosch electronic setup and is it the one from that motor? Something looks wrong to me. I'd be whacking in an Accel electron dizzy. Lot less hassle.

Looks like the right dizzy for an XE clevo coz it has the external electronic ignition module, it has to fit?

At a guess I would say that he has the distributor housing in the wrong position.

If he moves the distributor housing exactly 1/8th of a turn anti clock wise and then re positions the leads in the cap one place clockwise he should then have the timin

Thanks for the input fellas. Would of replied before now but my puter has the flu or something (been running too slow to even post).
Not at all sure of the problem (dizzy, not puter) except to say there must be a fualt with Pete's dizzy as i lent him one

xd and xe motors were made in australia and the only difference between dizzys. Is 8th of a thou
