Mates having trouble setting his timing in his F350. The 351 clevo was pulled from an XE f'mont. Now after being stuffed into his truck, mate says he needs to turn the dizzy just a little more to set timing right but the bulge on the side of dizzy housing fouls the manifold bolt. To lift dizzy and move back a tooth fixes that but gives him clearance probs with the thermostat housing. Anyone got a clue ? Tricky. Is the dizzy a Motorcraft/Bosch electronic setup and is it the one from that motor? Something looks wrong to me. I'd be whacking in an Accel electron dizzy. Lot less hassle.

At a guess I would say that he has the distributor housing in the wrong position. If he moves the distributor housing exactly 1/8th of a turn anti clock wise and then re positions the leads in the cap one place clockwise he should then have the timin Edited by user Monday, 14 April 2008 9:24:07 AM(UTC)
