well went to woollies Caltex the other day for some discounted fuel, if you spend $5 in the shop you get an extra 4 cents a litre off.
So as I was buying 200 litres it was worth while, normally I wouldn't go out of my way to save 4 cents on 20litres or whatever, anyway to get the extra I bought a couple of tins of Heinz baked beans at $2.95 each.
was up at Woolies the next day they had exactly the same beans at 99cents each.
Still saved money but boy thats an expensive tin of beans. next time I'll buy a couple of newspapers or something.

Live and learn....shop for your beans!

Didnt they just say on the news (cause news is always true...haha) that one of the chains had been found to be scamming people, that their fuel discount was a lie?

I'm sort of lucky in regard to this.
I work for Woolworths, so I get a 5% discount every time I top up the tank.
Plus the same discount at Big W, Tandy, Dick Smiths, and a host of others.

I hear what your saying though John, Woolies have a number of

I think the thread title needs to change from "Bin had" to "I've Bean had" :)

Dirty tricks at it's best, and unfortunately not many people have the time to stop & calculate the difference.

I used to work for a large American computer company. On a training day the trainer said "you don't have to give the customer good value for money you merely have to make them think that they are getting good value for money"

Now I have found on somet

I always make sure I check to see if the latest edition of Street Machine Magazine is out each time I fill up. That way I am buying something I would normally buy anyway and at the same price.
Once I factor in my 4 cents discount I am saving about one t
