Hi guys. Quick one....

The gear from my distributor has disappeared into the sump. I am about to head off & purchase a replacement gear. It is a Bosch HEI from a Commodore VH 3.3 (9230 064 700) fitted to a red 186. Are the gear patterns identical as not sure whether to specify the gear for a 186 or 202.

Thanks for any help.

same tooth pattern. I think all HEI gears are steel. other gears were made of plastic or steel. May be able to get bronze gears?

check if the roll pin is still there. If it's there you probably had a plastic gear that has broken off. If not there make sure you get one with your new gear

Pin was intact, nothing else. Replacement drive came with new pin. Working a treat. Thanks again!
