I bought a set of six tag rivets about a year ago and have them tucked away for when i put my tags back on (HK), they came with iinstructions on how to fit them prperly and IIRC they were made overseas (reproduction). I was browsing ebay just now and see this auction offering N.O.S GMH rivets but more concerning to me is they come with a rivet punch. Mine look the same as the ones in this auction but my insructions just say to use a flat centre punch. Would this punch save me some grief when i go to do the job ? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/B...ewItem#ebayphotohosting

Bugger it then, I shall go buy yet more and score me a punch. I could ebay the rivets i have now but doubt they'd sell with his flood of items offering the punch too. I paid about $65 IIRC and most of his feed back shows his sell on average for $20 to $30 |

i dont know why youd bother. Just use a bolt with a nut screwed on and a washer between the nut and the rivet. The punch is just a con, it takes bugger all pressure to spread the rivet, and the washer and nut will stop you pushing it through. The putty is

the reason the punch is a con is because the rivets dont work that way. they are not designed to be just depressed a bit to hold the tag firmly in place. The cross at the bottom of the rivet is so that the bottom splits into 4 triangles and then these tri

hey jamie you wouldnt happen to be the other seller on ebay that sells the rivet kits with the bolt & nut tool as there seems to be a tag rivet war on ebay at the moment as far as the triangles bending all the way around it dont sound correct because if y Edited by user Sunday, 15 June 2008 9:11:11 PM(UTC)

Just wanted to add my two cents worth - these rivets can be bought from Year One in the USA. You can buy online at yearone.com. Not sure of the codes but they are the same for ford mustangs, and other cars of the period. Think they sell for about a cou
