does anyone know whether T400 has the same mounting point (cross member) as T700. This is for HQ-Z tonner
I'd think they be close.

TH350 is what you want. Get one off an early WB Statesman and narrow it.

worded question a bit wrong, I have a T400 and a CRS cross member, I rang CRS and they not sure ...seriously..!
but I now want to put a T700 in, because of the overdrive ratio.

i think i T400 and T700 should go close to the same on the crossmember..

AFAIK the TH700 mount is up under the box like a TH350 or V8 powerglide not at the back like a TH400 or trimatic. That is why you need an outrigger on the front of the crossmember like a TH350 one from a late HZ or early WB. Simply cutting slots in the st

I have a HZ tonner with 253 & T700 I got a cross member from CRS (30mm box section )it is the same as T350 and drops down in the middle as the mount is under the box, if you go the T400 the box will hit the hump i would say.

thanks for that clubby, I've got that same cross member, so that should be ok. Still curious about the drive shaft length, I have a turbo shaft I think its 1625mm.

I got the original shortend about 25mm but the butcher cut it to short so now have to get a new ond done from scratch i think.

Mine could be , I will put the tonner up on the hoist tommorow maybe and measure how long the tailshaft should be , I may go a two piece one instead ,has anyone got any ideas on the two piece?
