I have read all the previous posts about teh right carb for a 253 red. - if there is any fresh advice please let me know.
A couple of mates bought me the Holley 570(vac. sec.)with Edelbrock performed for my b-day. Fitted it but still not running right. Goes well with 4 barrels open but crap when cuising around. I don't haev the heart to swap to a Quady or back to the WW as I go back a long way with these mates(btw they are both Ford nuts).

Where are you located?

Try to find an "Old School" tuner and get it jetted properly.

James

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.

Dr Terry runs Bebco at Auburn. Phone 9644 2888.

That should be close to you.

The best thing to do really (although you say you don't wish to) is get a Quadrajet off a blue 253, rebuild it and you'll be happier.

Another thing you might need to look at is your vacuum system and dizzy advance, because you said it was a bit rough while cruising, which is when the vacuum is low.

An old school tuner you could also use is a guy named Kevin at Tech Tune in Thornliegh

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.
