I am about to register my HT Holden. The car has not been on the road for more than 25 years.

I was making inquires at Vic Roads on how to go about registration and what I needed to bring.
One of the requirements was that the ID Tags matched the Fire wall number or VIN as they called it.
I explained that these numbers did not match until HG 1970.

My Q is what does the body number mean in the ID tag and how can I prove to them the tags have been removed.

Does someone have some reference I can show Vic Roads that my car is they way it should be.

Again a registry authority that has no idea what the hell they are talking about. You are correct that there is no match between the tags until 1/1/70 (but HT). So if it's a 1969 HT there are only two tags and they don't match the body, plus it doesn't ma

Thanks Byron very much for your comments.

The car is a 69 with only two tags, I think I will have to get some info from Holden them self or one of the Holden clubs.
I am going to make some calls to Vic Roads tomorrow and try and sort it out.

This is not new, and Byron it is not that they do not know what is going on it is that the value of these cars is so high they want to make sure that this car is NOT the stolen Moanro from winter sun.

Lets face some facts here, most Moanro owners do no

I don't know Warren, in my area they seem to be sometimes be on the side of "not knowing what they are talking about" with older cars. How else would a Holden V8 end up with an engine number recorded as 12784563! (This was pre blue slips of course).

Hi Guys.

In NSW, if the car was built before 1-Jan-65 and it is not modified, it won't need any seat belts.

Also in NSW, it won't need rear belts unless the ADR plate says it needs them.

Well the saga continues.

After about 50 phone calls all over the country including Holden themselves (no clue). I am starting to make progress.
After discussions with Dr Terry and Byron then again with Vic roads.
I have found out what I need.
