I've already created my list of "Iconic Australian performance vehicles" which I made the mistake of mentioning "muscle cars" in the title, and the two you tried to add don't fit.

There you go, apart from being an auto the VH/J E55 fits! I asked the same question in an earlier post about the engines in the US Chryslers ie does a 426 Hemi miss out because a 440 was available?

What a great debate here. I could talk for hours on this subject but cant at present. I must share some insight though on the XU-1 Torana. In a nutshell, they do not go, period. They stop and handle great but they dont go and as such cannot be incuded in

Out of interest did you ever get to try a 1973 Bathurst spec XU-1? Ive tried one of those and they really do go well. I cant comment on the LC version as ive never been in one. The last time my mates 1973 Bathurst was taken out for a run it was o

I did think about including the RS3100 but deleted what I had written because it was fully imported and not Australian in any way.

Werent Chrysler working on a manual 6 pack equipped 340 E55? That would have been good in a straight line.

Youre probably correct about the RS3100, it isnt Australian. However, unlike many imports it was sold thru the genuine Ford dealers. I suppose its the same as the Nissan R32 GTR, it too was sold here by Nissan Aust, unlike all the other Grey Im
