Evening all, first time on this forum so please correct me if Im out of line or off the mark :-)

I have been trying to remove the ignition barrel out of my FC, but having no luck. I have tried inserting a pin at every position and turning both left and right, but nothing seems to want free up the barrel. The FC only has "lock", "off", "on" and "start", doesn't have "accessory". The barrel has only one pin hole on the upper right. Have a new Rare Spares barrel I need to fit.

Appreciate any help or info anyone can offer. Cheers....

Hi sharpeidog.

It will only work in the lock position with the key inserted. Get a paper clip or similar & feel for the little spring plunger 'thingy'. It may be stuck because it hasn't moved for over 40 years. Give it a good wriggle & push. Once it pu

Thanks mate. Must admit I havent tried that. I have been using a very thin Allen Key and it seemed pretty solid when I inserted it. Will try it again in the lock position and carefully use a little more force.

Maybe try a small nail and use pliers to make sure you are pressing the pin right down. If you've given it a good spray you may then have to wriggle it round enough but it will go.

Good Luck.

O.k., next question.... The existing ignition switch has posts for 2 ignition wires, i.e IGN1 and IGN2. IGN1 makes circuit in the "on" position, but IGN2 makes circuit in the "start" position and goes to the neutral safety switch on the trans selector. Th

Hi sharpeidog.

Your old switch doesnt sound to me, to be an original FC ignition switch. The original has only 4 screw type terminals & none of then are marked IGN1 or IGN2. Your old one sounds like an EH to HG type.

The posts on the switch are iden
