hi, im lowering my vl myself, brought brand new springs and had everything readdy to go, i think i read somewhere that i may need an adjustable pannah bar or something? because i have 19z... can anyone confirm this, am i able to do it myself?

As you lower the car, the stock panhard rod pushes the diff over towards the drivers side, which can cause your tyres to rub the guards.
An adjustable panhard rod allows you to re-centre your diff, so the tyres dont rub (or at least rub less).

any other tips for lowering the car my self, im changing the rear shockers too, should i go gas or normal??

Fitting lowered rear springs in a VL is easy. Simply jack up the car, support it on stands, and then support the diff. Undo the shock bolts, then lower the diff, and the original springs can be reefed out.
