Bloody stupid isnt it. You could register it if there were no ID plates but not when the chassis has been changed. You might have to get another chassis and get it "repaired" by a licenced repairer and then register it that way. Bloody officious BS if you |

Did they just require a letter or statutory declaration from the guy who changed it? If so, just write one up and put his name on it. They dont know what his signature looks like.

Hi there
Just a thought for the day....do not falsely declare a statutory declaration.
If you get found out (i.e. they contact the person who made the stat dec) your problems will be a lot bigger than having the rego issue.
In most states falsely |

People use the stat decs for a whole range of reasons (sick leave, etc) and some tend not to place too much stock in them, but if you are trying to pull the wool over the govt, they tend to take those things seriously.

Take it to your local panel beater, tell him to grind of the old number and put on the correct number and get him to do a stat dec and state the old and new numbers, this should have been done when the chassi was most likely changed in the first place.

Might be worth a try but have you done a REVS Check or VCheck? If the car was registered and the chassis conversion done in the last 8 years or so, it should appear on a VCheck. It will list the post code of every registered owner, and engine and chassis
