If the engine is in good condition fit a better cam, find a good modified head (eg a Yella Terra) and get a HEI dizzy off a blue motor. For a carby id find a 186S inlet manifold (0249598999-Greg has one on the wall) and a red 253 carb.

If you can find one a 186S manifold fitted with either its original carby, a Weber from an XE-XF Falcon or a properly dyno tuned Holley 350 and extractors is a good start.

VK EFI is also a very good option.
