hi all, just after some help. i have a vk wagon 6cyl-carb-auto. can get myself a vb sedan, for free,(v8-auto disc rear end-lowered)the body on the vb is shot. was thinking about engine swap into vk and swapping lowered suspension into my wagon.i know the engine swap will work, just not sure about legal side of it. as in older engine into newer car.also apart from fitting wagon brackets onto sedan diff, will the rear end fit? are there any other issues i might encounter. have been out of the car scene for a while due to family stuff. but am ready to get into it again. thanks for listening....cheers

VB is ADR27A, and VK is (I think) ADR27C, so you wont be able to do it by the letter of the law. Itll all fit though. If the VB is a 308 it may be a bit easier to get passed OK but you might have to get a few VK 308 bits like carby, dizzy etc to disguise

i dont want to put a downer to your VB. i would leave it alone. if its a good motor but the body is gone. it really hasnt had a good life and been treated poorly. so its a good chance that the motor has had a hard life also like missed regular oil changes
