Hi guys, Ive got 2 manual consol lids, in woodgain. Nether has the hinges on them and i got a hold of 3. so what i'm trying to do is,, well basically reconnet the hinges i have the technique i'm gonna use, it's just i need to know the length from the edge of the lid, to the pivot point on the hinge (refer to picture) any help would be GREATLY appreciated. also, the slighty damaged one is for sale with one hinge IMAGE:  Cheers Get your feral little mittens off it! |

mate is it ann hj console cause i can get those measurements for you also i cant open your photo link so measuremennt from rear to hinge or front to hinge

The hinges were part of the original moulding and take the two spring clips that hold it open when needed.If you want to keep your original woodgrain and have a lid that works why dont you consider what trubluhq suggested and visit Rare Spares. Get a plai

Gee I must be a fool, I though the SUBJECT said HQ/HJ Manual console lid. I also thought the HQ & HJ & Torrie lids had the same mechanism. That flip up and snap. I am sure they had the same lid, but different console at the rear ! One open and one with a

because i already have these 2, and they in very good condition, except the hinges. yeh its the flip up and snap :P i jsut need the length, i ahve the means to strengthen and fix it.. jsut not the length :p erm measurement from the rear to tip of hinge |

cheers mate.. i glued them a few weeks back.. and it was only 3.. didnt work properly and i couldnt break them again :p is it high of 3.5 or less than?

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I recently bought a HJ console. When I got it home (I should have looked better at the time, but it was at Bendigo swap meet, and so many other things to look at) its different to my current HJ console. 90mm?! i cant say ive seen one that short. so the arm rest is only 9cm long? bloody hell.

No, not under the armrest. The storage space under the lift up lid thats either black, or fishscale, or woodgrain. The overall length of the console is the same.

oh right. well im not sure what mine is, cant be arsed checking. really ned that exact length,, the console is holding me back from finishing my interior :D cheers

mate i measured again and mine is exactly 3.5 cm from the rear edge of the lid to the centre of the hinge pin

mrhqute. are you on about the front lid. not the arm rest. it must be a LH torana console. the HX-Z did not have the front lid.

but the HX-Z does have a small compartment in the front of it which is normally covered up by the insert....and with a diffent console insert (gearshift part) a HQ-J lid can be fitted. HQ FOR SALE!!! http://www.tradingpost.c...au/Automotive/Classic-Un

too right i just took the auto piece out, and a carpeted compartment was underneath :) bought 2 lids and off we go

Come to think of it, I do remember HX and HZ looking different to HJ (or am I thinking WB?)

the HJ looks almost identical to HX-Z the WB is different. as i said, when changing insterts from HX-Z ones can be made to look like HJ. Rares could HJ lookalikes using the HX-Z shells they make. HQ FOR SALE!!! http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Automot
