Hi all,
Just completed a 4000km Xmas holiday trek with the EL wagon towing a caravan. Just a couple of small problems along the way, it's dual fuel and when hot it occasionally missed under load on gas (eg climbing a hill) and when on petrol it had a strong petrol smell when running on a hot day (guage was up near the O on NORMAL), but ran well otherwise. No signs of a petrol leak that I could see and when cooler or running on gas the smell wasn't there at all. Any ideas???

Peter, the spluttering uphill is probably your HT leads the next step is a blown up airbox.
Can't help with the petrol smell except to suggest you inspect the fuel hoses to the fuel rail and from the regulator.

Thanks Jim, I'll investigate further!! They tell me changing the HT leads is a bugger of a job, not looking forward to that!!

Yes it's one of those jobs where you get half way through and wish you had not started on an EB. The last time I did it I did them one at a time and used a bit of coat hanger wire bent into a hook to help out.
