What are a set of L34 heads worth these days?

Genuine L34 heads off an original L34? Or heads done to L34 specs?

I was told they were of a an L34. They are currently sitting on my 253 that I could be wrecking if it worth the effort.
How can one tell that are genuine heads?
The bloke I bought the car off is realy genuine so I believe him explicitly.

Problem I think is proper L34 heads wont work on a 253. The valves hit the block deck if I remember correctly. L34 heads are just modified HQ red heads, done by Dave Bennett (also from memory). But to be original heads theyll be the right casting dates, |

The heads are as per HK1837s post. They will have the same casting number as regular heads, bigger valves and a needle roller bearing on the rocker arm pivot. They were done as a batch by Dave Bennett before the L34 was released so cast date is critical |
You only have to be in front at the end of the race. |

Cheers JBM that puts a better light to it. I will leave it on the 253 for my next project. The engine is worked a bit and is rated a fair bit above standard horsepower.
