Genuine L34 heads off an original L34? Or heads done to L34 specs?

I was told they were of a an L34. They are currently sitting on my 253 that I could be wrecking if it worth the effort.

How can one tell that are genuine heads?

The bloke I bought the car off is realy genuine so I believe him explicitly.

Problem I think is proper L34 heads wont work on a 253. The valves hit the block deck if I remember correctly.
L34 heads are just modified HQ red heads, done by Dave Bennett (also from memory). But to be original heads theyll be the right casting dates,

The heads are as per HK1837s post.
They will have the same casting number as regular heads, bigger valves and a needle roller bearing on the rocker arm pivot.
They were done as a batch by Dave Bennett before the L34 was released so cast date is critical

You only have to be in front at the end of the race.

Cheers JBM
that puts a better light to it. I will leave it on the 253 for my next project. The engine is worked a bit and is rated a fair bit above standard horsepower.
