Is there much benifit in nitriting a crank? and will shot peening my rods(a9l) boost there HP rating. i wanna build a solid bottom end that will alow for power increases if i choose to later. |

In all honestly, new rods are cheap these days, by the time you cracktest,new bolts,close and hone,little end hone if required and shot peen, another 100 bucks will have you in a stronger, brand new set of i beams. i had a 750 norton combat commando, which at peak revs hit the (then) limits of piston speed, which was 4000 ft per second or per minute, cant remember which
