Can someone please tell me how many rotations of an oil pump drive gear, compared to one rotation of the camshaft?

In answer to your question its a simply maths exercise if you know the engine and cylenders configeration ie straight 4 v6 or 8 etc.
If the vehicle is appart and you can see the camshaft and oil pump drive simply count the teeth on each normally iden

thanks vintage, but if i had an engine apart, i wouldnt have bothered asking the question.
I dont really feel like stripping the front off my engine to do such a thing, so if there is someone with an engine sans timing case, could you have a look for m

AFAIK the oil pump rotates at the same rate as the distributor. Im talking about Holden & Chev motors here.
In Grey Motors & Chevs the oil pump is driven directly off the distributor shaft so thats a given. In the Holden Red/Blue/Black 6-cyl & V8, the |
