gday all just wondering if a banjo 3.55 lsd centre would fit into my 3.36 open wheeler in my hg sedan? i know the axles will be different but will it bolt straight in? its to go behind a mild 308 wil shift kitted trimatic and used as a weekend cruiser. any other suggestions for diffs would be great
cheers

Yes it will fit in using your axles if it is a coarse spline LSD. Honestly though I wouldnt bother if its just a weekend cruiser. LSD is more likely to break and 3.36 is a better ratio for 308 trimatic.

There are 2 different types... course spline and fine spline.
If your lucky the 2 centres will be the same... otherwise you will need the matching axles.

However I would not use a banjo behind a V8... pretty piss weak.
Commodore diffs seem the way to

commodore diffs are only popular because of their abundance in places like pick a part etc.
you will pay $100 for one, and if you scrounge around, you may even get a limo, and a 3.08 ratio as most of them are. you can also do gear changes easily.

you can interchange crown wheel and pinion between
3.36, 3.55 or 3.90
if you have 3.08 it can only be changed with 2.78
all the bango diffs became fine spline some time in 76
I thought, some one will correct me
the exceptions were the 73 XU1 and L3

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
