i am currantly restoring a HQ ambulance, it has a fair bit of rust so im going to remove the body off the chassis to repair it, does anyone here have a stand or rotissire i could buy/lend/hire to put the body on while being repaired it?

i live in ballarat but will travel if i need to

also does anyone have any advice on the best way to lift the body off the chassis?, the front end has been removed and body has been stripped, i'm working in a concrete drive way (shed is full) with limited room

any advice will be appreciated, thanks dave

I bought a 2nd hand one a few years ago for less than $500.
Cost me $120 for a tilt-tray to transport it.

Cheers,

I would agree a Hoist is the answer, however many are 3 phase powered and not everyone has this available at home. Single phase motorised hoists are generally a lot more expensive to buy, due to manufacturing costs of motors and motor controls.

Back to the original topic,

I saw on the EH QLD site I think, a rotisserie made up of 2 engine stands, one at each end, joined by 2 lengths of 50mm SHS.
Depends how cheap you can get the engine stands.

Worth thinking about

My mate is building a FE panelvan and he built his own out of Pine timber.
Cost, $15., and that was for bolts etc.
you can roll the car with 1 hand easy.
he used stub axels and rims at either end.
Ministry of finance should be happy with that.!
