With Gm all but finished in US, although I'd think this is just a strategy to completely restructure company. GM in china is apperently is doing very well. In the article I read it would be cheaper for all GM vechicles to be built in china and ship them back to states........logical but not rational....well not yet..... .....maybe another decade....?

If everything gets built in China who will have a job here? Then who will have a job to buy these goods? There are so many companies going broke or getting it from China now so what will our work force do in the future? Is Australia about to become a she

Imagine how we feel in the US. We used to have dozens of car companies now we got three two of which are mostly owned by the Government.

we have track mounted equipment that we buy and gets sold to america one of the service fitters has been there alot and he said no one helps you no one works overtime and no one goes out of there way to get the job done. he has worked in 32 states and say |

The Japs are the same I work for a Holden supplier Hirotech which is a japanese family owned business in Elizabeth , the japs there are working up to 14 hours a day some more in the past and do not question the boss. In japan they do rotating shifts and

Good point Monaro 202, but you better start believing it ....china's build quality is getting better and the cheap labour is impossible to beat. USA will keep there car industry going by basically subsidizing it...for there pride or just to keep people e

sorry truebluhq missed that point altogether. Come to think about it the VE commodore is something like 50% made in China already.....so its maybe just a matter of time and it will be a mingsdore

I agree with you Dr Terry....and yes its sad....but unless the Govt subsidizes our industries or puts big tariffs up (much of a muchness really) we will be producing very little in ten years. And yes its quite possible all of the commodore will be made

You make some good points mate but there is a flip side to everything. Do you check the tags when you buy clothing? I don't as often as i should. If you check your cupboard the majority is made in China. I'm willing to pay 50% plus more for australian mad
