Is there any difference in the weight of a HQ commercial chassis and later series?
Are there any differences in the bumperettes between series? I know WB had the optional rubber strip.

HZ-WB chassis are thinner steel, but they do have more stuff attached to them and HZ have sway bar brackets so probably not much.

Bumperettes are all the same from memory, and I've never seen one with a rubber strip but I have seen part numbers for them.

Why were they thinner? Better steel or cost cutting?

I can't remember the exact words used but it was something like better steel and lighter weight. I'm also not certain if this document was talking about the passenger rails (and hence only the front half of the commercial chassis) or if it meant the back half of the commercial chassis too.

I've got a hq chassis and a wb chassis both Utes cracked in a similar spot and I'm quite sure they are different thickness at least look to be and I have two bumperettes that I'm about to polish and they are different weights for sure so I'll clean them up and weigh them on kitchen scales to be sure.
