Hi guys im looking at a 327 engine. Can anyone verify what the numbers are please. Engine cast number 3914660. Inlet manifold GM 4 T 3827184. And engine number 327 15??0 and then T 120730. Owner wants to keep the engine number to himself. Hoping its a hk engine. Cheers

It is from a GMH assembled Impala. Same engine just different carb (for auto) and sump. The inlet manifold is not original to the engine, it is off a second type HK engine or HT-HG Tonawanda 350 - it won't have the oil filler in the front.

Ok so the difference is all in the engine number? Is it worth anything? It has water in the oil and he wants 1k. So basically buying inlet and block and heads as the rest is aftermarket or incorrect.

Does it still have its exhaust manifolds? Carby? The inlet manifold is worth something too if it is correct for a HT-G or late HK. Dizzy? What about hang-ons, like alternator bracket, spark plug shields, water pump, pulleys etc?

By the engine number it is very close to or into Pagewood HK second type 327 period, I have a 32715 second type engine at home. This places it going into an Impala around December 1968 or later. I have seen 32715737T12073Q before, it may be close to that one, just depends how Pagewood scheduled them.

Yes the difference is in the T12073Q (it should be Q not 0 on the end).

What rocker covers are on it too?

Oh well not sure on anything else. Its just been sold. It has non original carby and headers. Non original alt and bracket. Basically nothing factory except block heads and manifold. Even rockers were aftermarket. Ill just keep building the 307 no probs. Thanks for all your help. At least next time ill know

Someone will probably try and pass it off as a HK engine to unsuspecting buyer. Did you end up getting the missing digits or were they not supplied to you?

Not supplied. It was advertised as a hk gts engine but i thought the hk ones ended in h5 or something and thats why i asked on here as you guys are a wealth of knowledge

Yes, H5 for Tonawanda HK 327 engines. 3Q was used for both 1968 Impala and Parisienne assembled by GMH. Sometimes the Q appears as an O, but the engine assembly plants were good at that, often used I for 1, upside down 9 for 6 and vice versa.
