Gday fokes,
Can you help with this 327 engine id i came across under a mates work bench since the 80s
Its very hard to read but this is what i think the numbers stamped on the block are?
18F25053 space 6 space V072HN

All I can tell you it is from the Flint V8 Van Slyke Road engine plant in Michigan. 18F25053 is a partial VIN from the car it originated in, I think the F is the Flint assembly plant. The cast date of the block will tell more what the original engine was as HN was used in 1965, 1968 and 1969 on both 327 and 350. If it is 1965 you are on a real winner as a HN in 1965 is a Corvette 327, manual transmission, transistor ignition, 375hp fuel injected engine. M in 1968 is a 327/250 powerglide (same spec engine as our Impala and Parisienne). 1969 I think it is the 235hp 327 2BBL with TH350. Also for 1969 a 350 300hp 4bolt auto which is the L48 engine (same engine as HT GTS350M). Edited by user Wednesday, 28 October 2015 5:43:32 PM(UTC)
