Hey,
I'm looking at an 83 VH SS Commodore and just want to decipher the VIN code.
VIN is 8K69TCL5979221H
I know the following -
8 - Holden
K - not 100% sure but think it is base spec
69 - sedan
TC - don't know what this is
L - Adelaide
5979221 - serial number
H - VH
Can anyone fill in the blanks?
Model is VH8VK69-XV2
Eng L31, Trans M21, Axle GU4

K is the luxury level, it is SL as you say but it is a special vehicle package on the base model (XV2) so it is an SS.
69 sedan
T is 5.0L.
C is the model year, should be 1983 (9/82 to 8/83).
L5979221 - this is the PSN, but too many digits. Will only be 6.
H is VH for this vehicle (also means LH).
XV2 is VH SS. This one is a 5.0L, 4spd with 3.08:1 rear axle. |
