I was just wondering if anyone knew what the original floor colour was in a late brisbane built hk holden. Its a purple sort of colour. A mix of left over paint?

Acacia Ridge cars seem to have the most random 'slops black' mixes.
Yes its suposed to be all the leftover paint plus black but I think Acacia Ridge rarely added much black to the mix.
My HQ is a light grey and I've seen several other early 70's cars all very light greys from Acacia Ridge.

Yours is "sort of purple" they probably did a load of red cars that day and added a pinch of black.

That's interesting, I didn't know Brisbane was like that. Most of the Dandenong HKTG cars I've seen are mostly red oxide over black etch on the inside floor pan, with body colour overspray and some black overspray. There has been no attempt to paint it fully.

Im talking about the underside. Slops painted areas like the boot and underside and firewalls from Acacia Ridge are very often nothing like a black. That's what I've noticed anyway.

OK Wayne. I read the original question as the inside floor colour.

That is electrostatically applied red lead primer.

I'm looking for a product to replicate the red oxide. I'm looking at a DP??LF primer in red oxide to go over the existing DP40.

Has anyone used it ?
Is it close to the original in colour ?
