Just the normal quick grip contact adhesive. You apply to both parts, or you apply to one, press it in where it goes, then pull it out. Let the glue 'tack off' until it's sticky and no longer wet, then put the 2 parts together. It will work quite fine on plastic.
Cheers,

Mick

I used to make office desks for a living. we used to thoroughly clean the steel tops down, drill with sanding disk, and mineral based stripper etc., then apply a thin coat of Bear contact cement to the desk with a paint brush, carefully remove any lumps in the coating, allow to dry overnight then get the vinyl, paint a coating of bear over that, again checking carefully for lumps, let it dry to tacky, then lay it on carefully rolling it flat with a length of 3" solid steel bar. obviously won't be the same for your purpose but for what it's worth....
