Thanks for the help guys. Think I found the problem, mechanic found fault code B0023. Goggled code and found reference to pinched wire on the vz commodore,then the penny dropped. When the ute was only a few months old was in the outback and the radio stopped working and wouldn't pick up any channels. Got to Charleville and the a local told me their was plenty of channels. Thinking it may have been the aerial I stood on the scuff plate and moved the aerial and the radio started working, stepped of the scuff plate and it stopped again. Removed the scuff plate and moved the wires and on came the radio WTF, been working ever since. So I thought maybe check under the scuff plate again and their is a branch in the loom were the wiring goes under the seat then continues down the back, took the sharp bend out of some wires and surprise red airbag in the dash no longer comes on and the message saying service airbag has gone back to the digital speedo. Appears to be doggy factory fitting of wiring loom and the scuff plate was crimping the sharp bend. Cheers Baz.
