hello all, I have a HZ ute with v8 efi (vp comm) Runs perfect for 15-20mins then stalls, but will restart only to stall again after another couple of minutes driving . Have had auto elec replace fuel pump, relays, fit new filters , fit in line fuel pressure gauge, When motor stalls, fuel pressure gauge drops to zero psi.
Any advice will be helpful.
Cheers Dave

Thank you, I have trusted professionals to fix the vehicle, and so far no success. I can only ask if they have checked the map sensor operation. Cheers

Fuel pressure will drop because power to the pump is cut when it stalls.
I'd be looking at the ignition module (simple test is pour cold water on it, and if it restarts fine then it confirms it. Otherwise I'd look at the crank sensor in the dizzy.
Been a common theme on all EFI 5L I've owned at around 180,000km. |
Cheers,
