Even though it was mid 30s in the garage we managed to get the engine and box back in and all the underside back together. Tailshaft, hoses, the complete exhaust inc extractors and all the wiring and cables DONE. Created a bit of clearance between the motor and the firewall whilst it was out.

Finally back together and looking like a car again. I am waiting on a heap of parts to come back from the painters. They will be bolted on as soon as they arrive. The trimmer should be installing the headlining this Saturday which means the front and rear screens go in soon after. Then it's just a matter of fitting the rest of the interior and we're done.

Finally got around to starting the motor. No oil pressure at all. A new pickup tube was fitted so I guess I need to prime the pump with some Vasolene. Should have thought of this when it was on the engine stand still, not back in the car. Half way there. There's not much room under there. I wish it was a HQ I was working on. Much easier All back together and we have 40psi pressure at idle https://www.facebook.com...videos/1233818473405094/Edited by user Saturday, 25 February 2017 6:46:59 PM(UTC)

The last piece of the under car puzzle. The stock rear handbrake cable could not make it's way around the exhaust without rubbing on it. There's no way the engineer would have allowed this so it has been reworked to clear/ It's now two seperate cables with one running across the diff and meeting the other as they both run along the chassis rail. A simple connector will join them to the stock EH intermediate cable.

It's alive. Brakes seem to be getting better with a bit of use. A few laps up and down the "closed to the public" road and they feel better all the time. Still not as good as I was hoping but that may still be to come once the pads and rotors are bedded in.

Dash pads on. They thinned out the ends to ensure they didn't get too wide and stop the glovebox opening. Looks like it wasn't enough as it's tight.

The brakes never really seemed to get to a point where I was happy with them. I think I have it sorted now though. Proof will be in the driving though. I plumbed a twin piston vacuum pump into the booster and I now have a pedal with some feel and that reassuring vacuum sound when you apply the brakes. Fingers crossed.. I still need to neaten it all up now I know it has solved the problem. I guess the cam in my little 308 is bit crankier than I thought
