If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

It is a 1970 Lucas coil 8C12 stamped on it but has a 6 cylinder part number on it. The 8C12 also was used on V8's but has a different part number. What will happen Dr Terry if I use the wrong one on a V8(350)?Can you modify the coil to suit ?

Those two ignition coils are very similar. Their primary resistance is virtually the same & are both designed to work with the factory Holden ballast (in the wiring harness) & a good old fashioned points distributor. The modern Bosch equivalent is the SU12R which they list to fit all Holden, Falcons & Valiants, both 6 & V8, of that era. Dr Terry Edited by user Monday, 12 June 2017 1:34:01 PM(UTC)
