SWAPPING OVERHEAT LIGHT (RED LIGHT OF DEATH) TO FACTORY TEMP GAUGE IN HX

Gday, I have a HX (commercial) fitted with the over heat light (red light of death) and I want to replace it with the factory temp gauge/fuel gauge.
I know I have to pull the dash (standard) apart. Any tips or trick for this?
I need to know will it be a simple "plug and play" when installing the new gauge cluster? Or will extra wiring be required?
I will also have to change the sender in the engine block as the sender for the red light is either "on or off", while the temp gauge sender gives an increasing/decreasing reading to the gauge.
Thanks for any replies in advance. Nich.

Gday, Just want to say thanks to everybody from the site that replied to my post.
Also want to thank everybody thay helped me with this conversion...Thanks Nich.
So for anybody that does this conversion I recommend getting the guage recalibrated and have the correct sensor supplied by a parts dealer (Supacheap, Walkers/Bursons, Otto's instruments and so on) I recommend you also have the 3/8 (outer diamater) to 1/8 (inner diameter) reducer. IT IS A MUST. This part is the only part that is not a "plug and play" part. Converting from the red light of death to a factory temp gauge will simply plug and play. You have to undo the three screws at the top of the dash. Remove the two or three screws aling the bottom of the dash facia to give better access to the gauge. Pull the headlight switch knob out via the small spring button on the side of the head light switch box. If you have a manual choke, that too will have to be released to allow access behind the dash facia. I used an outer of a push bike brake cable taped to the choke cable so that I could pull it into the cabin and then back into the engine bay Once the dash facia is removed enough to give you access to the gauge. Remove the two or three screws holding the gauge to the dash skeleton. Then simply locate the wires at the back of it and remove Remove the red light of death/fuel gauge. Then plug the same wires onto the new/recalibrated gauge. DO NOT TEST THE NEW GAUGE UNTIL IT IS COMPLETELY REATTACHED TO THE THE DASH SKELETON Reinsert manual choke cable. Reattach the headlight switch knob and control box. Reattch the dash facia with screws Hope this helps someone.
