Hi there just wondering when the xa petrol cap will be out .and have you seen the quality?

We hope to have the XA XB GT and XC GXL petrol caps out late 2017 put it all depends on future sample results. We will be doing brushed silver. But as with anything still in development it is difficult to give an estimate on the time frame until samples are approved. One thing I'll ask if possible is to ensure that the rivets are a bit bigger than what was on the old reproduction locking GT caps. They tended to pull out over time causing the cap to go loose and not seal. The chrome button on the old reproduction caps was also a weaker metal and the tab that keeps the button flush would break off over time. The chrome button also bubbled and pitted. I've had reproduction and genuine caps and there is a noticeable difference between them. These non locking caps look good.

The initial reproduction caps you are talking about were done in the 1980's and the issues you mention would not have been noticed when they were made. However improved technology, a change of suppliers and your comments will all contribute to making a better product. There is considerable expense in the tooling, visiting the factory and even getting GOOD samples that will also add to making sure they are 100%. Unfortunately like a lot of products they take time to perfect.
