Just a quick question, when was forced air induction first offered in HQ-WB vehicles?

If you talking about air to the passenger compartment, then from the outset of HQ. Designed with the vents in the door pillars to allow outflow

Forced air, as defined by GM-H is effectively fan-forced face-level fresh air ventilation. This was first seen in the upper spec models in HJ, e.g. Premier, LS, GTS, Statesmans etc. For HX, Kingswoods gained forced air & by HZ-WB even the most basic models had it fitted as standard equipment. The standard HQ dash vents were not fan-forced, while the the factory air con system would not allow fan-forced air at face-level unless it was air conditioned air. The factory air con in HJ-WB did allow this with that extra position added to the air control level. Dr Terry Edited by user Friday, 20 April 2018 12:15:02 PM(UTC)

Just out of interest, when did the heater system first get induction via a blower fan? I remember my Dad's HK had it, but our EH did not.

Fan heaters have been around since FX in one form or other. Motorless heaters were made available, usually as a dealer-fitted accessory from FB to HG. Cars earlier than FB didn't have a plenum chamber type air intake to enable the motorless type to operate. In early 71 ADRs made motorised heater-demisters compulsory, so the motorless type disappeared. Premiers had the motorised heater-demisters as standard equipment & these units (minus the centre console) were also available on Specials & Standards etc. However they were quite expensive, so the motorless type were made available as a cheaper alternative.
