Hi can anyone help or point me in right direction,i have an HT GTS monaro at panelbeaters in nz geting restored, purchased from a panelbeater where car was abandoned about 25yrs ago.in that time tags have gone missing,
Info i have .august 69 Built, melbourne chassis/body no HT13828M,
Engine no 350M47115T0402 both verified Historic holden no records of cars exported nz apparently.
Car was sold nz new first rego 1/1/70 rego cancelled about 1992
Been through nz system no vin numbers recorded ,have cert so can be licenced ,but prefer original numbers not made up one from transport.
Needs licencing before bringing to oz.so looking for info on vin & body id tag. Car was apparently green, although transport had listed blue .restoring back to original so need colours etc.

HHS is the best bet but you’ll never get its original numbers. I wouldn’t spend too much on it as it will never be seen as anything other than a Monaro, so I’d do it as a nice modified rather than wasting $ trying to do it too original.

You don’t need any more numbers to register it, the vehicle identity is there- the chassis number HT13828M. Two two missing tags mean nothing for rego, they are internal GMH numbers.

If you can get all its old number plates and search those on Carjam you may find some info. I have noticed that sometimes they stuff up and record the VIN rather than the chassis number.

HHS may be able to help a bit more but you'll never get the exact PSN for it. The BODY number will be close to the chassis number give or take up to maybe 1000. Best bet is to find other HT's from Dandenong with close chassis numbers - find as many as you can and then look at all their body numbers and you'll see what I mean.

I just looked at it on CARJAM. They have the chassis right but they have made a mess of the engine number. Looks like whoever entered the data got some chassis number digits mixed up with the end of the engine number. There should be an older rego plate though as that one is dated 1976. If you look up FJ5215 you can see that its VIN was recorded as its chassis number in 1969. If you find your car's original rego plate you may find its VIN if you are lucky. Whereas GA3202 shows the proper chassis number recorded in 1970.
