Hi All, Just wondering does anyone tune there Holleys on the open road with these gauges.
I would like to buy one of these gauges. What are good settings in air/fuel ratio when the car is in your garage, (Stationary)
My Carby is a 670 street Avenger. (Vac. Secondarys)
ie: (1) For the Idle system.
(2) The Main system.
(3) The Power System.
(4) And for when the secondary's are opened.
Also on the road, with the systems above working during;
(1) Cruise conditions.
(2) At traffic lights idling for a T400.
(3) And under WOT on the road.
Is it supposed to be 14:1 Ratio for each type of condition or what?
Also where in Victoria is a good place to buy a Gauge kit or a LM2 Reader from.
Probably a tough one to answer guys, but why not ask!
Any Help is appricated, thanks Morses World.

Kade speed and marine in qld is the place to buy an LM2
-Idle lambda doesnt matter, best vaccuum on the gauge at the rpm you want to idle at, for an auto, do it in gear. -Main jet, keep leaning it off until the car gets fluffy on the highway then go up 2 sizes. Drive easy on the pedal, youre not at bonneville yet.
Thats idle and low speed/low load taken care of.
-Power valve, dont listen to the rubbish about 1/2 idle vac or any of that crap. start with an 8.5" and work down (so 6.5") but not yet. -power valve channel restriction, with the secondaries disconnected put your foot down, now you see where youre at on the wideband or do it the old school way with a known distance and a stopwatch. If you must have an AFR, start at 12.3:1, may involve drilling smaller holes, its easier to make them bigger. -When youre happy with all that, reconnect secondaries and give it the berries, adjust rear jet to keep you around your 12.3:1 or whatever is fastest.
Plenty of resources on the net that will help you but the above will get you close.
Not a professional, advice is provided in a general nature and you should always consult an expert.

Hi Green HJ,
If I buy a Gauge or LM2 I'll try your method, instead of using a Dyno.
But I am sure I'll buy one soon.
As it is being tested under real driving conditions, ie: with the Carby & Air cleaner subjected to the actual Air Quantity being shoved into the engine at various loading conditions. etc. Will see what Ratio reading the car runs the best at, half way between best economy & best power to play safe.
Thanks for the advice,
Regards, Morsesworld.
