Did 1968 front windscreen and rear glass have the same ARMOURGLAS marking on them as the side glass did? My rear glass has no marking at all on it, no brand no date code. Is that how they were originally? Was there no design ruling for rear glass? My front glass I guess is a replacement, the marking looks like this. Interested to know what markings original 1968 glass has. Thanks

I have all this noted down and will check later for you. All my rear HK coupe glass has a mark in the centre, very hard to see though compared to the side ones. The red Acacia Ridge GTS327 has the same mark as the Pagewood yellow GTS. I think I have 3 or 4 other rear screens too, all have similar marks, some are different as they are off later cars. |

HK rear screen looks like the side glass but has ARMOURFLOAT where the side glass has ARMOURGLAS. It didn't change to the next type until about the middle of 1969 where the only change is on the rear screen where SAFETY GLAS was replaced by APPROVED TO AS R1.
The mark on the rear screen is right at the bottom, sometimes partially under the rubber smack in the centre. Very feint. |

I had a look at a very rusty yet original HK Prem today and learnt a few things. All the date codes were 3rd quarter 1968 All side glass were 'ARMOURGLAS SAFETY GLASS' and had this symbol. The rear glass had 'ARMOURFLOAT SAFETY GLASS' no hammer or hand symbol. The front glass was an optional 'ZONE Toughened' type with ARMOURFLOAT MODIFIED ZONE written on it, again no hammer or hand symbol. I guess a standard HK front windscreen would have 'ARMOURFLOAT SAFETY GLASS' symbol same as the rear glass.

There should be an arrow below/between the words MODIFIED ZONE pointing towards the zone side, which you can see in that 3rd picture. |
