Hi all. Just a couple of questions about about HT HG sbc Saginaw crossmembers.
1- Which code for sbc with original engine mounts and spacers? 2- What is the change HT to HG as part numbers are different in books?
At present I run a C code crossmember and US saggy with the shifter mounted off the extension housing, but want to go to original type box. So which crossmember do I need please.
3- Which vehicle's are S and G stamped members used on.? Thanks oily

Will check one I have at home off HG 253 4spd Kingswood sedan to see what is on it. Where is the letter located? From memory with these the M21/M22 4spd crossmember used for 6cyl and V8 Holden engines is the same, and the one for the SBC engines is different as the box sits backwards by about 3/4". I recall asking about this for someone else once that was converting to a SBC from a 253, and the answer was you could use the Holden engine crossmember with the SBC but you couldn't get to the drain bolt for the gearbox without removing the crossmember. But if you tell me where the letter is I'll check mine and see what code is on it as it is definitely from a 253 M21 car. I'm pretty sure it is still complete with shifter, linkages etc as I removed it from the car (we cut the car up). Edited by user Thursday, 4 July 2019 1:32:23 PM(UTC)

HK Thanks in anticipation of your response. The marking that I refer to is stamped under the lower side 6 inches in from the right edge. (upper case 1/2" high) Also could you measure from the rear edge to the center of the handbrake relay arm pivot pin thanks. Eg. Mark A crossmember edge to pin center 3 inches (HT 6cyl 3speed) Mark C crossmember edge to pin center 7 inches (HT? V8 auto?) Mark S crossmember edge to pin center 7 inches (HT? V8 Saginaw) Not sure if C and or S crossmembers are HT or HG. Chev or 253/308 Clear as mud eh. Oily

There are people selling replicas, and whole kits with shifter, linkages etc. Examples (although the top one I think is an S by the looks so not for SBC): https://www.ebay.com.au/...f2e7:g:6rAAAOSwEvVc6klG
https://www.ebay.com.au/...=p2047675.c100009.m1982
If you didn't need an original one these might be an option. I'd talk to Dave at Bellarine or Simon at HKTG parts before leaping though, and see what they can do. Edited by user Friday, 5 July 2019 6:57:23 AM(UTC)
