HR 235A = HR Premier sedan Automatic
1149 = GMH code for a car painted Savonnah Bronze all over (i.e No white roof)
F42 = Honey Fawn interior trim with bucket seats
587-1703 = Dulux code for Savannah Bronze paint
245 = Pack no. for a car with X2 Eng, Auto trans, Front Discs & LSD.

The odd part is that my literature shows that Honey Fawn wasn't introduced until July 67, but X2 engines were replaced by the 186S in May 67.

What is the date code on your car's steering box & what engine is in it (if original?

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

The chassis number and PSN will give up its age better Terry. It has to be an X2 with that insert line code.

Thanks guys for the prompt replies, your info is spot on re this car, and you have laid to rest some of my uneasy thoughts whilst inspecting this vehicle.
This particular vehicle has a drum brake front end a 186A engine done up like a X2, I suspect the whole front end has been replaced from the firewall forward as all the Y legs cross members look brand new with the old steering and suspension parts reused. What threw me right off was the I’d plate looked brant new and the numbers have been punched into it so the letters and numbers were not embossed (raised). At $35k not reg, electrical issues and some TLC needed I think I will Give it a miss and wait for another opportunity.
Appreciate all your help
Cheers

Did you get it’s chassis number and PSN (little tag) details?
