I’m not near my info at the moment, but I can tell you it is a Dandenong assembled HR Premier. Pretty sure the PSN means it is the 79782nd vehicle assembled at Dandenong since the start of HD. This will include Chevrolet and Pontiac. The chassis number tells you it is the 12665th HR body out of the Dandenong body plant. Something isn’t quite right with the BODY line on the body tag. 162 on the insert line is the mechanical configuration, can’t remember for certain but I think 162 is 186 with front discs, not sure if it is manual or auto, probably auto. Will check later. Dr Terry is your best bet for the TRIM line. The TOP line is the vinyl roof. |

Yes, the BODY line doesn't quite look right, but HR 235M is a HR Premier sedan with manual trans. I'm guessing the 'P' should be an 'R" meaning RHD (right hand drive).
The TRIM line refers to the Pyrenees Blue Metallic paint finish & Bone coloured interior trim with front bucket seats.

Thank you for your help.
The body no. is HR 235 M R - 11978M What month in 1966 approx. would the car have been manufactured? Also what no. range would the original engine be in? The car has now been retrofitted with a power glide. Other than the (M) on the I'd plate what other evidence should I look for to indicate the car was built as a manual? Many thanks for your assistance. Regards Rob

Many thanks for your assistance. Regards Rob The chassis number (HR 12665M) suggests it was built around August 1966. The best evidence of its manual origins would be to check the inhibitor switch wiring at the base of the steering column is wired. Unless they've changed the entire harness you are sure to see some bodgy wiring there. Dr Terry |
