Just wondering what finish the leaf springs on a hk premier are ?

Don't think they were ever painted. I've pulled apart a few and no sign of paint between the leaves.

I always thought that they were just sprayed in black air dry enamel, like a lot of the underbody & suspension parts.
Yes, no paint between the leaves, because they were painted after assembly.

I never found a hint of black paint on mine anywhere only the yellow part number and code DAND. I'm guessing that was painted on by the spring manufacturer.
GMH probably painted over rust and the paint fell off soon after. Wayne
